This painting was included in an exhibit titled "Making Art: Explorations in Process". This painting is different from my normal works in that I am not attempting to capture a moment in time. What I am trying to convey is a sense of my own relationship to this special property which is owned by The Nature Conservancy and is known as The Choptank Wetlands. It's also about man's relationship to the environment and how it's up to us to preserve the fragile balance. It depicts a scene that never existed in reality, but was formed in my mind after numerous plein air studies and countless trips to the property.
